Doesn't sound like a good day, does it? For many homeowners' trees, this is all in a year's work: withstanding tornadoes, lightning, floods and ice storms, among others. No wonder our city trees often look abused - they are. Weather and, particularly, sudden storms can wreak havoc on trees.

  • This website is one of many steps undertaken by local, state and federal government agencies and non-profit and private companies to help central Oklahoma residents recover from the May 3, 1999 tornadoes. During an hour and a half on the evening of May 3, thousands of homes were destroyed and lives irreparably changed by some of the strongest storms ever recorded, with one tornado rated an F5.
